Interested in serving on the Chamber board?
The chamber board each year encourages those in the community to seek a role in the chamber by serving on the board. We’re addressing a large number of projects with more in the pipeline and are eager for even more new ideas. Can you help?
The board typically only meets once per month (at present noon the first Friday of the month but that could be/has been moved) where members can either meet at the chamber office in Rio Dell or phone in. Aside from an occasional work day (for instance putting up holiday decorations or flags) most projects are handled by phone or online in one’s spare time.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with questions or to indicate your interest in serving on the board.
Wildwood Days is coming August 5-7, 2022
Wildwood Days planning for 2022 is underway. The chamber will once again manage the parade, set for noon on Sat., Aug. 6.
The theme is a salute to first responders. As always, participation is free and open to all, there will be prizes for winners in various categories, and staging will take place on Center Street south of Wildwood, opposite the school.
Other aspects of Wildwood Days are managed by other organizations and individuals in the community.
Want to get in on the planning? It happens at the Rio Dell fire hall at 50 Center Street on the fourth Thursday of each month at 6 p.m.
Want to be in the car show and shine on Sunday in front of City Hall? Contact Mary Burns at 707.599.9621.

Check out these walking and biking paths in Rio Dell
Through Caltrans Active Transportation Program funding, Rio Dell received infrastructure improvements in 2020 to improve safety and increase opportunities for students to walk and bike safely to school. A bike lane now connects the Belleview neighborhood to Wildwood and numerous pedestrian improvements were made to create safer walking connections throughout town. This pedestrian and bicycle route map that includes the time and distance to reach destinations was also developed as a tool to determine the safest routes to Eagle Prairie Elementary and Monument Middle School.Rio Dell Ped and Bike Map_Final
Chamber activities in the time of Covid
The chamber, in compliance with “Safe at home” practices to contain the spread of Covid-19, is closed and not having activities that are usually scheduled. Reopening the chamber is part of Stage 4 as it stands now in the state’s guidelines, for activities and groups. Meanwhile, the chamber newsletter and Facebook page will continue to alert people to activities being planned for the future and things that are happening now, although differently than usual. The chamber board is meeting by phone at noon on the first Friday of the month instead of in person. Our minutes are posted under Chamber Business on this site.
Honor someone, sponsor a flag
Once, Rio Dell had flags on Wildwood for holiday weekends, though the flags are no longer in use, or available. The chamber is seeking to bring back that tradition, with the purchase of flags to place along Wildwood, with poles and a plaque on each to name the sponsor. Here’s your chance to sponsor a flag that would be placed out for holiday and other celebratory events (Wildwood Days for example) for years to come. The cost is $50 –you can have a 2-to 3-line message of up to 15 characters each line on the plaque. This would be a great way to honor a family member, friend, or other loved one on Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, graduation, an anniversary, birthday or wedding . . . with an ongoing beautification of the community. Contact the chamber of commerce at 506-5081 or email@example.com questions, or send your check for $50 with your inscription message to PO Box 95, Rio Dell, CA 95562.
